Our Story

Butter, slowed down to its best self

ButterBite began with a single pan of brown butter and a stubborn belief: that the ordinary loaf is worth obsessing over. We toast our butter until it turns the colour of hazelnut, feed a wild starter through the night, and bake everything the morning you order it.

No preservatives, no shortcuts — just flour, butter, time and a little patience.

Questions, answered

Custom cakes and large bread orders need 48 hours' notice. Daily bakes are usually on the shelf by 9am — but the good stuff sells out, so mornings are best.

We keep a small gluten-free tray each day, baked separately. Ask at the counter or note it on your order and we'll set one aside.

Local delivery within 5km of our Rander shop, plus counter collection every day from 8am to 10pm.

Always. Slice, freeze, then toast straight from frozen for that just-baked crunch — no need to defrost.
