The short version: we collect only what we need to bake for you and get it to you, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
ButterBite is an artisan bakery at Shop No.2, Paradise Tower, Rander, Surat, Gujarat 395005, open daily 8am–10pm. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse our site, send an enquiry, or place an order — and what we do with it.

What we collect
Contact and enquiry details: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you share when you enquire about a cake or order.
Order details: what you ordered, delivery or pickup information, and payment status (our store is cash-on-delivery, so we never see or store your card or UPI details).
Account details (when the store launches): your phone number used for one-time-password (OTP) sign-in and your order history.
Technical details: basic, anonymised browsing information such as device type and pages visited, collected through privacy-friendly analytics and cookies.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, confirm and fulfil orders, arrange delivery or pickup, and — only if you ask us to — send updates about your order.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary information with delivery partners fulfilling your order and with service providers that help us run the site (hosting, OTP authentication). They may only use it for that purpose.
We will disclose information if required by Indian law or a lawful government request.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: strictly necessary ones that keep the site working (theme preference, cart contents, login session) and, if enabled, basic analytics cookies that help us understand which pages people visit. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still work, but conveniences like a saved cart may not.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages are kept for up to 12 months. Order records are kept for up to 3 years for accounting and tax purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, by writing to hello@getbutterbite.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you created a store account, you can also update your details there directly.
Security and children
We protect your information with standard safeguards — encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access, and OTP-based sign-in rather than passwords. No method is perfectly secure, so please contact us immediately if you suspect misuse of your details.
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date. Significant changes will also be highlighted on the site for a reasonable period.
